Since 1985, the FWA Scholarship Fund has awarded over $1,250,000 in scholarships to more than 150 Bay Area women who show promise as future financial leaders.

We raise funds for the scholarship program through the Financial Woman of the Year Event, supported by our generous sponsors.

We are able to offer substantial scholarships to women studying finance or pursuing a career in financial services in the Bay Area. We work closely with the business schools at the University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; the California State Universities at San Francisco, San Jose and East Bay; Golden Gate University; University of Santa Clara; Stanford University; Dominican University of California; St Mary's College, Peralto College and Mills College but we welcome applicants from all Bay Area universities that meet our eligibility criteria.

Award:  

Each spring, following an intense interviewing and selection process, the fund grants annual awards of $10,000 each to graduate students and $5,000 each to undergraduate students pursuing a career in finance or financial services at an accredited college or university located within the nine Bay Area counties. Scholarship recipients are honored at an annual luncheon held in August and participate in a valuable Mentoring Program. Please see the Program Overview for details.
