The Financial Woman of the Year Award, presented by the
Financial Women’s Association of San Francisco Scholarship
Fund (FWASFSF), recognizes and applauds the role women play in
the field of finance in the Bay Area. The recipient will be a
senior executive working in the financial sector or serving in
a financial capacity in any business sector. A recognized
leader in her field, the winner will have demonstrated a
commitment to bettering the community and actively supporting
and promoting the advancement of women.
The net proceeds from the FWASFSF Financial Woman of the
Year Event are awarded through the FWASF Scholarship Fund.
The generosity of sponsors to the Financial Woman of the Year
Event has enabled FWASFSF to expand significantly the scope of
the scholarship program. Since 1985, the Fund has awarded over $1,600,000 in scholarship grants
to more than 190 Bay Area women
who show promise as future financial leaders. Every year we award undergraduate scholarships at the
$5,000 level and graduate scholarships at the $10,000 level.
We work closely with University of California - Berkeley,
University of San Francisco, the State Universities at San
Francisco, San Jose and Hayward, Mills College, Golden Gate University,
University of Santa Clara and Stanford University; however, we
welcome applicants from all universities located within one of
the nine Bay Area counties.
