Sonam Thunden
I was born in a refugee camp in India after my parents moved
there from their native country, Tibet. I came to United States
in 1994 to pursue a higher educational degree. Before coming to
United States, I lived in Hokkaido, the northern-most island of
Japan for six years. I studied Japanese and worked for my
non-profit organization, which eventually helped built the first
school for disabled Tibetan refugee children in Dehradun, India.
Now, I am a third year student at University of California,
Berkeley. My educational goal is to get an MBA.
