Yi Zhou

Berkeley’s Haas School of Business

Yi Zhou obtained her bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering at the Nanjing University of Science and Technology in Nanjing, China. She obtained her Master’s degree in International Trade and Finance at Hunan University in Changsha, China, and acquired her Ph.D. in Finance and Insurance at Peking University’s School of Economics in Beijing, China. In addition, Yi has entered the Master’s in Financial Engineering Program at Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, with an expected graduation date of March 2008.

Yi’s desire to study finance was inspired by the onset of economic liberalization and a series of financial market reformations which took place in China during the 1990s. After achieving great success as a financial professional in China, Yi moved to the United States with her spouse in 2004, and studied hard to master English and continue her stellar financial career in a new country. Her goal is to become a successful investment analyst with a strong quantitative and financial background – a goal she is already well on the way to achieve.
